Natural Homemade Hand Sanitizer
This natural hand sanitizer combines alcohol for disinfecting with aloe vera gel and vitamin E for moisturizing. Essential oils like tea tree and lavender can add antibacterial properties and a pleasant scent, making it a perfect, non-toxic alternative to store-bought sanitizers. It's simple to make and effective for on-the-go hygiene.
Equipment
- 1 Funnel
Ingredients
- 1 cup 91% isopropyl alcohol
- ½ cup aloe vera gel
- 45 drops tea tree oil optional; adds antibacterial properties
- 15 drops essential oil to round out the scent; rosemary, lavender, cinnamon are great
- ¾ tsp vitamin E oil optional; for moisturizing
Instructions
- In a small glass bowl, add the essential oils and vitamin E oil (if using) and stir.
- Add the alcohol and stir again.
- Add the aloe vera gel and mix very well.
- Using a funnel, pour the mixture into your container of choice.
- Shake well before using.
Notes
This hand sanitizer will be more watery than the ones you can get from the store, but it will still be as effective.
