Spring is here! Spring is here! Spring is HERE!
I’m quite excited, if you can’t tell, because this winter was so darn long, but Spring has sprung and there’s not going back now. 🙂
Our garden is going in a little late this year, as we’ve been (and will be) traveling for a bit, so that’s going to have to wait. But what I have been working on is doing some Spring Cleaning, trying to get this house freshened up and ready for the new season!
I’ve posted quite a few natural cleaning recipes here over the past year, and it’s no surprise that many of them contain not only simple, natural ingredients, but also essential oils. I love essential oils and use them for just about everything – including cleaning our home – because they have disinfecting properties and they leave the house smelling absolutely wonderful.
When Plant Therapy contacted me about trying some of their oils, I quickly jumped at the opportunity. I’d never heard of their company before, but after reading more about them, I knew I wanted to work with them!
Plant Therapy Essential Oils Review

Plant Therapy sent me their awesome Top 14 Essential Oils Set – it contains oils I use on a regular basis, some that I’ve tried a few times, and some that I’ve only heard about but haven’t yet had the chance to try out. This was super exciting for me, as I’m always up for trying new oils in different ways!

First, let me say that I love Plant Therapy’s super simple, yet elegant packaging. The oils come in a simple cardboard box with a small layer of foam to protect the bottles, and a cute little elastic bow to hold the box closed. That’s it. No extra, wasteful packaging or paper, etc. The box was shipped in a thick, padded envelope, but that was it. I love when companies use minimalist principles in their packing and shipping!
Spring Cleaning and Other Recipes
The essential oils I’ve been using for my Spring Cleaning include lavender, orange, peppermint, and tea tree. So I used these in everything from my homemade laundry detergent and dryer sheets, to my all-purpose cleaner, my foaming hand soap and I even made a fresh batch of my anti-bacterial spray.

Now, I’ve used a few different essential oil brands in the past, and I even have a favorite brand for each specific oil. But I can tell you that I’m very pleased with the high quality of Plant Therapy’s oils. They smell amazing, and sometimes even better than my previous favorites. The lavender and orange, specifically, have a cleaner, more vibrant scent – and those are my favorites!
From Plant Therapy:
Plant Therapy believes in the power of essential oils, and know of their incredible benefits, we want them to be used in as many households as possible. Plant Therapy was founded with one goal in mind… we want to provide the highest quality essential oils (and accessories) at a price that everyone can afford. Plant Therapy provides oils that are 100% pure, undiluted and therapeutic grade. We source each oil from top suppliers around the world, buy in large volume, and negotiate the best prices possible. We then pass those savings on to you, the consumer!
In addition to my Spring Cleaning, I also wanted to try out some of the other oils, so I made up a new batch of my homemade deodorant. I used the lavender and tea tree oils for one batch, as usual, but I also added some patchouli for another batch because it has an earthy, fruity scent. Patchouli also has antiseptic and antimibrobal properties, making it a great deodorant!
And since I’m pregnant, I just had to try some of the tips from my Essential Oils for Pregnancy post! I’ve been having some neck pain and stiffness, so I mixed a couple drops of bergamot and lavender into some coconut oil and gave myself a nice neck massage. Wow! I’ve never used bergamot oil before, but it was a very nice complement to the lavender oil, for a soothing, relaxing massage. Bergamot is good for stress and anxiety, so it’s a great addition to your relaxing bath and massage oil blends.
I also really like that they list the uses and benefits of the oils very clearly on the side of every bottle. That way, the info is right at your fingertips so you don’t have to go fumbling around looking it up online or searching through a book.

The only thing I didn’t like about these oils was how quickly they came out of the bottle when I was adding them to my recipes. I’m used to a slow, controlled drip, allowing me to carefully count each drop. But Plant Therapy’s oils come out much more quickly, that sometimes it was hard to count the drops. Of course, this is an issue with the bottles, and not the oils themselves, but I still thought I’d mention it just so you’re aware.
I’m really impressed by the quality of Plant Therapy’s oils. They’re 100% pure and natural, and free from any chemicals or pesticides. If you’re just starting to get into essential oils, or if you’re a seasoned pro, you may want to give them a try next time you’re shopping for some oils, as they’re very affordable!

I couldn’t get through a day without my essential oils. We have used them for years,
I use tea tree oil in cleaning, but I’d like to try more.
Vetiver has to be my absolute favorite! It is aptly called the ‘oil of tranquility”. I dab a little on the vIta flex points before meditation and diffuse it in the burner too.
How do you feel your oils compare to DoTerra oils?
Hi Candy,
I haven’t used doTERRA oils yet, so I can’t really give an honest comparison..
They are of a high quality and in my opinion they go neck and neck with doTerra. Also, have you tried Spark Naturals? High quality at very, VERY affordable prices!!!
I do the “no poo” hair cleansing method for my hair and rinse my hair with rosemary and vinegar. I also clean my house with vinegar and mainly citrus oils.
I am still just learning and reading about essential oils. I have not used them yet, but very eager to start. 🙂
I use essential oils everywhere in my house. To disinfect and to keep healthy. Some of my favorites are Breathe, Deep Blue, lavender, and my most favorite is melaleuca. I am still amazed that by taking one drop internally, I got rid of esophageal thrush overnight. It has also preventing severe scarring when I injured my arm and elbow during a nasty fall on concrete.
I love using essential oils and learning new ways everyday
I just discovered them! I use Tea Tree for laundry Ieave overnight accidentally. I use lemon and orange in my kids’ baths. I sniff lavendar when I’m feeling sad and it is so uplifting!
I love EO’s! I just wish that they didn’t cost so much…or that I wasn’t the type that has to have every.single.oil that I read about :o) I love lavender, eucalyptus and bergamont! I love oils, love, love … LOVE them!

I use the headache relief all around my hairline. I also love peppermint and lavender for this. I’ve made homemade deodorant and an all-purpose cleaner. I LOVE EO’s!
I use essential oils in a diffuser and under my nose when I’m congested and just breathe them in. My favorites are lavender, eucaluptus and peppermint.

I use a lot of EO in my cleaning products, especially the citrus scented. I’m also starting to make my own patchouli scented soaps.
I use TTO all over the house: for my skin, for cleaning and for aromatherapy!
I mainly use my essential oils as a doula. I have a few right now that I either use separately (lavender, peppermint, etc) or as a blend (a lovely labor one). I’ve been doing a bit of research and want to make up my own blends for my clients while in labor for me to use with them as also postpartum. Thanks very much for the new recipe for massage (bergamot and lavender in coconut oil), I’ll have to give that one a try!
I absolutely LOVE essential oils! Its difficult to pick a favorite, but I would have to say my absolute tops would have to be: Frankinscence, Myrrh, & Lavender. I like to use them for aroma therapy and also for salves, soaps, shampoo, etc. I love learning new ways to enjoy them as well!
My favorite essential oil to use is clove oil. True, it is not often I have to bring it out to ease the pain from a bad toothache, but it has saved myself and my family enough grief to be extremely grateful for its existence. I feel good reaching for that instead of the massive amounts of painkillerdrugs I would need to quell the agony. Thank God for natural medicine!
I use several oils but one has been most reached for lately when a Spring bout of the flu bug hit friends. I dosed the family with approx. three drops oregano oil on a small spoonful of coconut oil 3x/day for about 5 days. We ended up with just a few with sore throats and fevers and some with just runny nose but no aches, pains, puking, ect. I swear by oregano oil!
I use EO in cleaning sprays and sometimes in a spray bottle of water to use on my girls hair while I’m styling it.
I’d love to get some of these myself! I’ve been very interested in herbal medicine so figuring out the best uses and combinations of oils for certain things sounds like it’d be a lot of fun.

I’ve been using essential oils mostly for making my own cleaning supplies. Now that I have that down pat, I’m going to start making my own beauty supplies (shampoo, soap, lotions, etc.). Favorite scents are rose, lemon, tangerine, lavender and gardenia.
I can’t wait to try some of the recipes and ideas here! I love lemongrass, lavender and peppermint – and am looking to expand my collection of essential oils. Your article was a big help in guiding me towards what to purchase next. Thank you!

I use eucalyptus oil when my children are congested I rub some on their feet while sleeping. I would love to learn more about oils and the natural way of doing things verses the toxins in the daily product we buy at the store.
I use them in everything, my homemade lotions and butters. My room spray and facial misters…I love them.
