Spring is here! Spring is here! Spring is HERE!
I’m quite excited, if you can’t tell, because this winter was so darn long, but Spring has sprung and there’s not going back now. 🙂
Our garden is going in a little late this year, as we’ve been (and will be) traveling for a bit, so that’s going to have to wait. But what I have been working on is doing some Spring Cleaning, trying to get this house freshened up and ready for the new season!
I’ve posted quite a few natural cleaning recipes here over the past year, and it’s no surprise that many of them contain not only simple, natural ingredients, but also essential oils. I love essential oils and use them for just about everything – including cleaning our home – because they have disinfecting properties and they leave the house smelling absolutely wonderful.
When Plant Therapy contacted me about trying some of their oils, I quickly jumped at the opportunity. I’d never heard of their company before, but after reading more about them, I knew I wanted to work with them!
Plant Therapy Essential Oils Review

Plant Therapy sent me their awesome Top 14 Essential Oils Set – it contains oils I use on a regular basis, some that I’ve tried a few times, and some that I’ve only heard about but haven’t yet had the chance to try out. This was super exciting for me, as I’m always up for trying new oils in different ways!

First, let me say that I love Plant Therapy’s super simple, yet elegant packaging. The oils come in a simple cardboard box with a small layer of foam to protect the bottles, and a cute little elastic bow to hold the box closed. That’s it. No extra, wasteful packaging or paper, etc. The box was shipped in a thick, padded envelope, but that was it. I love when companies use minimalist principles in their packing and shipping!
Spring Cleaning and Other Recipes
The essential oils I’ve been using for my Spring Cleaning include lavender, orange, peppermint, and tea tree. So I used these in everything from my homemade laundry detergent and dryer sheets, to my all-purpose cleaner, my foaming hand soap and I even made a fresh batch of my anti-bacterial spray.

Now, I’ve used a few different essential oil brands in the past, and I even have a favorite brand for each specific oil. But I can tell you that I’m very pleased with the high quality of Plant Therapy’s oils. They smell amazing, and sometimes even better than my previous favorites. The lavender and orange, specifically, have a cleaner, more vibrant scent – and those are my favorites!
From Plant Therapy:
Plant Therapy believes in the power of essential oils, and know of their incredible benefits, we want them to be used in as many households as possible. Plant Therapy was founded with one goal in mind… we want to provide the highest quality essential oils (and accessories) at a price that everyone can afford. Plant Therapy provides oils that are 100% pure, undiluted and therapeutic grade. We source each oil from top suppliers around the world, buy in large volume, and negotiate the best prices possible. We then pass those savings on to you, the consumer!
In addition to my Spring Cleaning, I also wanted to try out some of the other oils, so I made up a new batch of my homemade deodorant. I used the lavender and tea tree oils for one batch, as usual, but I also added some patchouli for another batch because it has an earthy, fruity scent. Patchouli also has antiseptic and antimibrobal properties, making it a great deodorant!
And since I’m pregnant, I just had to try some of the tips from my Essential Oils for Pregnancy post! I’ve been having some neck pain and stiffness, so I mixed a couple drops of bergamot and lavender into some coconut oil and gave myself a nice neck massage. Wow! I’ve never used bergamot oil before, but it was a very nice complement to the lavender oil, for a soothing, relaxing massage. Bergamot is good for stress and anxiety, so it’s a great addition to your relaxing bath and massage oil blends.
I also really like that they list the uses and benefits of the oils very clearly on the side of every bottle. That way, the info is right at your fingertips so you don’t have to go fumbling around looking it up online or searching through a book.

The only thing I didn’t like about these oils was how quickly they came out of the bottle when I was adding them to my recipes. I’m used to a slow, controlled drip, allowing me to carefully count each drop. But Plant Therapy’s oils come out much more quickly, that sometimes it was hard to count the drops. Of course, this is an issue with the bottles, and not the oils themselves, but I still thought I’d mention it just so you’re aware.
I’m really impressed by the quality of Plant Therapy’s oils. They’re 100% pure and natural, and free from any chemicals or pesticides. If you’re just starting to get into essential oils, or if you’re a seasoned pro, you may want to give them a try next time you’re shopping for some oils, as they’re very affordable!

I’ve just recently started using PT oils and really love them. I love that they are affordable and FREE SHIPPING!!! Who doesn’t love that? I love their calming the child blend. I use their oils in my homemade deodorant and in my facial oil blend. I also use a lot of their blends at work and diffuse them for my whole office to enjoy. I’d love to win some!
These oils sound great, I would love to win them to try them.
I like that they have the ‘germ fighting’ that is comparable to thieves, which I use for just about everything. Sometimes though I use it just for cleaning or something and hate paying the ridiculous price I normally pay for it so I am happy they have something I can use for cleaning and defusing that is not costing an arm & a leg so I will buy it and see how it goes 🙂
I love using essential oils. I use them in aromatherapy for pets all the time. I use a specific brand that is ok to use with birds (young living) but I use other brands as well for things like cleaning and even for myself when I have a head ache the peppermint oil defused in the room really helps.
I use tea tree oil all the time! Love using it in cleaning and I love the smell of it!
I have started using essential oils to make facial treatments for me and my daughter. My favorite oils to use in these are lavender, arjan, and tea tree oils.

I am new to using essential oils. I have only recently started learning how to create my own house hold items…I am gradually gathering items that I need to make additional products for my home in addition to the couple that I already create. I try not to purchase large quantities of oils just yet as they tend to be a little pricy and as stated here finding quality oils is difficult sometimes. I am thankful for the positive posts about Plant therapy leaving me with a better feeling about making a purchase.
My favorite is Lemongrass Essential Oil…so many uses in cleaning and the smell is so refreshing and energizing! Thanks so much!
